When should moving bins arrive? A delivery-to-pickup timeline
Your moving date is only one point in a bin rental. Schedule time to fill the bins before the truck arrives and time to empty them after you have the keys.
Work backward from moving day for delivery, then forward from your first realistic unpacking day for pickup. Check both New Jersey addresses and the available dates before booking.
Put three separate dates on your calendar
Write down bin delivery, moving day and empty-bin pickup. Delivery is when your packing containers arrive, not when a crew moves your home. Renting EcoBins does not reserve moving labor or a truck.
Start with the move date your mover or rental vehicle can accommodate. Check when you can enter the new home and when the old home must be empty. A closing appointment, building reservation or work shift may leave less usable time than the dates first suggest.
Then count actual packing sessions. If you work during the day, four evenings may be more useful than two calendar days. Leave your everyday dishes and bedding for the final session, but finish most packing before moving morning.
A worked example: bins delivered October 5, collected October 19
This is a hypothetical planning example for a move on October 10, 2026. It is not a reserved appointment, a price quote or a recommendation that every household needs the same rental length.

The useful feature is the day reserved for checking equipment before collection. If you cannot unpack on weekdays, build the plan around the weekend you can actually use. Check the selected dates and full rental quote in the booking form.
Check the pickup address as carefully as delivery
EcoBins delivers and collects in New Jersey only. Enter both addresses during booking, even when collection is at a different home. Exact coverage, dates, access arrangements and service fees are checked for your order; a New Jersey town name alone does not confirm availability.
For each stop, record the floor, stairs or elevator, parking instructions and the person who can provide access. If a building allows deliveries only during certain hours, resolve that before choosing appointments. Our apartment moving checklist covers the building questions in detail.
Make the unpacking plan specific enough to finish
“Unpack that week” is easy to postpone. Assign rooms to the sessions you have: essentials on arrival, kitchen the next evening, clothes after that, then books and decorations. Keep an inventory of bins still holding belongings so one forgotten closet does not surprise you on pickup day.

If the move slips, update every affected appointment
A later move can use up the unpacking time you allowed. As soon as a change is likely, contact your mover, both buildings and EcoBins. Changing one reservation does not update the others.
Request a later pickup through your private rental link or contact EcoBins. Extra time needs an availability check and may change the price. Until a change is approved, use your confirmed collection date as the deadline. If an extension is unavailable, discuss a workable return plan with the team.
